****Sfiligoi's New Infinity DSE****

We are proud to announce another model to the already impressive Sfiligoi Infinity series, the Infinity DSE. Joining the recently unveiled DDE, Infinity DSE incorporates a twin lamp and reflector design which allows for significantly increased PAR ratings at a minimal power consumption. Testing of PAR measures on a 2x250w DDE/DSE returned results of almost double the PAR than that of a single 1x400w pendant. This huge gains were achieved while only using 100w more power. With power consumption in mind, Sfiligoi has also released a 150w version of the DDE model. Test results indicated similar output to that of the 1x400w while using 100w less power to do so. See below PAR Measures.

Pricing on the new DSE pendants is:

24" - 2x250w SE 4x24w T5 4 Led Moon's - $1150
48" - 4x250w SE 4x54w T5 6 Led Moon's - $2095
72" - 6x250w SE 8x39w T5 8 Led Moon's - $3250

The DSE has been added to my web store and the first two production 2x250w DSE's are soon to be arriving and will be set up on my own personal tank. Will post some pics once they arrive.

New DSE Arrival

I am excited to have received the first two production Infinity DSE pendants. Each are 2x250w SE with 4x24w T5's. They will both be powered by a 250w ACLS master unit and a 250w Ice Cap. I will also be trying out Sfiligoi's new HQI lamps, four 14K lamps, and will share these results. Hoping to get these up over the tank this weekend.

They are beautiful Tim!! Sfiligoi really makes some nice looking fixtures (to go along with the functionality). Looking forward to seeing these over your tank. Def pist some pics for us!

Tim,

Are the fixtures being used? If so what do you think?

I have managed to get the lights up and running over my tank and am really impressed with their performance. For the past week I had been running the halides on ACLS at 75% intensity to prevent shocking the corals and today I have upped them to 90%. The bulbs are the new Sfiligoi 250w 14k's and appear to be brighter than the Phoenix's I had been running. Here are a few shots:

A 24" pendant will effectively illuminate an area of 42"L x 36"W.

I would probably recommend a 6 ft fixture for your tank. A 24" fixture will illuminate a 42"x36" tank but you must realize corals are always placed inward from the glass a couple inches. With you an 82" tank I would expect you intend to keep corals throughout, especially the middle. It is at this point of the tank that you will be experiencing the outer reach of the light coverage from each pendant and it will most likely not be enough especially if there is SPS present. In certain situations you may get away with it but if your intention is to keep SPS throughout the length of the tank I would definitely recommend a 72" XR6 or DSE in order to give you more uniform light throughout.

Thanx for the pictures I have not seen these fixtures in person. It makes making the decision easier of course if you can touch one in person

i am getting/setting up a 72x36x25 tank. a big issue i have is i only have 14" to 14 1/2" from top of tank to ceiling. tank and lights will be in garage, but duct work will give me no room for any additional room. i would appreciate your thoughts on whether this is feasible and coverage for tanks..thanks

Coverage wise, the DDE/DSE will provide exceptional illumination of your tank. As for your height limitations, that is hard for me to determine for you. I can tell you that the light itself is 7" high and the hanging peg screwed to the top of the fixture adds an additional 1.5" to the height.

that would leave me about 6" above the tank, 7 or so above the water. would that be too close and would it still leave me good coverage? thanks

You are fine for coverage and there is no harm being that close to the water surface. Your only issue appears to be the tight spacing you have to work with above your tank.

It wouldn't be the ideal scenario for lighting your tank as a 48" XR6 would be best suited but for what its worth, the 24" fixture provided me enough spread on my 42" width tank as seen above in the images from this thread.

I am getting a 36"X36"X27" tank. Going to raise a mixed reef. I really like the compact design of the infinity and it is currently my top choice for lighting.

My question is three-fold.
Would the 150 Watt model be enought to penetrate the 27" depth, if I kept the sps towards the top?
Is there a marked difference in power consumption (cost in running the 250 watts over 150s)
Is there an aesthetic difference between the 250s and 150s (ie with the 150s will the corners of the tank seem dark?)
