The Seller just responded to my question whether he would have another shipment of the 150's and he said, "Yes, in July." We'll just have to keep checking.

Thanks for taking those pics. So it looks like your Atman 2500 uses 45 watts, the same as the replacement atman 2500 from http://socaltropicalfishoutlet.com/c...2ptmc0st0td9h1

Anyhow, I'm starting to think that the Atman 1100 on the SC 65 and Atman 2000 on the SC 150 are new higher wattage pumps.

If my Atman 1100 uses 28 watts when the older replacement pump http://socaltropicalfishoutlet.com/c...2ptmc0st0td9h1 uses 8 watts, Then I would like to see what the new Atman 2000 on the SC 150 uses, considering that the old one http://socaltropicalfishoutlet.com/c...2ptmc0st0td9h1 uses 11 watts.

*Edit According to the item description on ebay, the SC 150's Atman 2000 uses 41 watts!

I'll jump one this one for only $100 shipped is pretty awesome. I'm currently running a NAC5e converted to run in sump and doing awesome on my 55g w/ 40breader sump. I'm even tempted to try and retrofit a bb2000 pump on it from my lx2000HOB I was running.

Thats some good skim, more of what I expected from this skimmer. Your bio load must be better suited for the skimmer, mine is a little light but still pulling out more than my NW110 ever did.

I recieved my SC150 and it came in 100% in tact. I have nothing broken. As for the extra parts recieved I was able to get a second collection cup ring. Not the top lid or the bottom plate, the clear round portion.

I'm planning to wash it out today and install it into my sump.

Has anyone thought about drilling the cup for a drain? I'd really like to do this.

I'm wondering something very similar. Through my own fault, I burnt up the PH-1100 pump on my NAC3+. I'm looking for a replacement, but also noticed the 8W and small GPH rating on SoCaltropical's website. I'd HATE to spend the 40 bucks, get it, and have it be some inferior model that will not work in my skimmer. Or maybe I'd purchase a larger model that will be too strong for my skimmer, or maybe, not even fit underneath it? Maybe SoCal's website is a misprint? Which one do you guys think I should get? I'm still not happy about spending 40+ on a pump for a, now dated, skimmer that has a newer version available for 75 bucks brand new.

mine is here! ill pics up tonight! i do have a question: does the skimmer body just sit over the pump? mine just has a barbed fitting that screws into the top of the pump and then goes into a barb style that sits inside the hole on in the bottom of the reaction chamber?

Hmm, I was just about to commit to a cone BM NAC-3.5 but all these reviews make me just want to pull the trigger on a SC-65. Just a little skittish on the shipping. Any word on how that was resolved?

Also, I was looking at the SC-65 and it looks like there is room in the housing for the pump for a larger pump. What are thoughts on overdriving with an upgraded pump?

I have mine in 9 inches and that seems perfect. I put my silencer on from my old skimmer and it made it dead silent.

Get it man trust us on this. The SC skimmers are great. Mojo the skimmer nut has one as well, thats got to say something. For the money you can not beat them.

Try it out put an Atman 2000 on it see what it does. I have been wondering if the 2500 would do better on my skimmer myself.
Sorry should have multi quoted all of my last few posts, not reading all new posts before post=bad.

I put an empty pill bottle over my air tube. Punched a hole in the lid big enough for the tube, then punched a bunch of smaller holes in the lid for air to get in. Worked good.

Honestly I have been thoroughly confused about pumps and ratings lately. The pump I am using on the old scc65 is an aquabee 2000l, which is supposed to put out approx 450lph of air, I had to dial down my air intake to halfway open and dial down the water output as low as it would go to get the bubbles to rise up in the neck. Which means it barely runs a skimmer body rated for 65 gallons... The deltec that this pump came off of was rated at 125 gallons. Now the sc 150 rated at 150 gallons has a very close in capacity pump in the atman 2000. The part that is confusing me is if you look at the bm-nac7 it is using an atman 2500 and is rated at 185 gallons. But if you look at the bm 180-cs it is using an aquabee 2000l and rated at 240 gallons...

Bah. All the ratings are just ballparks. The manufacturer can say anything they want.

For what I under stand it is water turnover or GPH you want to look at more than air intake. While the amount of air is important you want the turn over rate to be correct for your tank. I try to get a skimmer rated at an over rated size for any tank I use and also try to match the skimmer flow to my sump flow. I am by no mean and expert on this and am confused on this as well but this is what I have come to understand. I would like to try an Atman 2500 on my SC150 to see if a larger pump would run the skimmer any better.
