RO/DI Install Questions

Hi Everyone,

I bought an RODI from BRS and just got around to installing it. Everything is going smoothly but I do have some questions.

1. Our kitchen sink has only one drain and it has a garbage disposal. I drilled on that pipe because it's the only one. Is there anything I can do to prevent backup from reaching the RO unit? Check valve?

2. The drinking water faucet attachment that BRS sent me is a "Standard" one instead of the "Air Gap" kind. Are they now using the standard or was I sent the wrong one?

3. I have an RO tank under the sink. Will the RO unit "know" when it's full and stop making RO?

Thanks people. I can't wait to have this setup but I want to make sure it's done right (rightish).

Ok I finally got a hold of someone at BRS. Here it goes.
1. Check Valve should work

2. They send the standard faucet when you purchase the add-on drinking water kit. Just ignore the waste water instructions and connect the blue line.

3. Yes. Because of the pressure the RO unit will stop making RO water.

Also don't forget to add a ball valve between the T and the DI. I didn't see it in the instructions and I noticed it in the video. I almost turned on the water without adding one. Would have been a big mess.
