Apollo Reef LEDS

Bill after careful consideration i have decided to go with 3 of the Apollo Reef
fixture for my 60x36x27 that would give me 165 leds at 3w each. Do you think 3 is overkill or will 2 do the job? afterwards i going to look into building a case to house them in for a clean look.
Do you keep them in stock?

3 would work for SPS and clams 2 for softies. I measured the PAR of my fixture at 24" and it came in at 214.

We do stock them but only have one 20K elite left. Apollo is redesigning the housing. The current housing is the same one everyone else uses. We should be able to ship the new version out the beginning of next month.

We hope to display the dimmable version at MACNA.

The next version is a larger different housing. The insides are the same. The dimmable will use this new housing and be controlled via an APEX and RJ45 cable.

Will it also be able to be controlled using the 1-10v output on the RKL ACL module or is the dimming feature going to be set up specifically for APEX?

The output of the RKL ACL module is a bit weak and not really designed for LED Drivers. To be honest it may work fine but would not be surprised if it does not. I dont recommend controlling more than one or two drivers. We should know for sure once we test the unit and have a hard driver spec sheet from Apollo.

The cables will be specifically designed for the APEX. Apollo is working on a 4 channel controller which should be less expensive than the RKM ALC and can be upgraded with a flash drive.

We are testing a DIY 4 channel analog controller that should price between $65-$75. Each channel would be able to control 3-5 drivers or power a pair of
3 watt moonlight LEDs. We'll post results this weekend.
