36" to 48" tall aquariums.

Can these lights support really tall aquariums? I am in the process setting up 2 600g 96x40x36 and 84x34x48 bowfront. These are going to be full blown reef tanks. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

36 to 48" depths are no problem whatsoever. For this application we generally suggest 25 degree optics. We have 3 available degree variations including 25, 40, and 60. With the Genesis fixtures designed with a more even layout of leds, even using all 25 degrees optics there exists no "spotlight" effects as experienced on many other systems.

There also is the possibility of configuring each of the modules to use any of the 3 choices of optics.

For example, we currently are in the start of a 650g complete install on a tank measuring 114"x36"x36". This tank is a room divider and for this tank we intend to use 2x48" Custom Genesis T5 fixtures measuring 28" wide that will house 2 additional led modules on the front and another 2 on the rear. The center leds will have 60deg lens for a better spread over the upper acro area of the tank, the T5's will hit our middle regions and the outer led modules will have 25deg lenses to effectively target the substrate at the front and rear.

We are beginning to offer the Genesis fixtures with these unique design options in order to allow for more performance and functionality to better suit the aquariums needs.

Feel free to email for any further questions: [email protected]
