Green hair algae
I am having issues with green hair algae and I read on one forum about the use of Magnesium at higher than normal levels in order to kill off the algae. I have tried to find this post but cannot find it. Does anyone know if this process will work and also where to find the post?

This works for Byropsis, but not for GHA. Also it must be done with Kent Tech M Magnesium, others wont work. If you have GHA its a whole different story and MG never made a difference for me.

Thanks for your input jimrawr. What I have is GHA. There seem to be many opinions on ridding GHA but no 2 opinions seem to be alike.

Well, opinions aside, magnesium additions of any sort are not a suitable way to treat green hair algae, and exporting more phosphate is always a useful way to go.
