I bought new frogspawn coral today and have discovered a few holes on its skeleton. Imagine my surprise when I noticed that there was something inside. It does look like a feather duster a bit, but behaves completely different. It comes out for half a second and then hides, waits a 2 seconds and appears again. I shot a video of it, you can see that there's more than one.
Here is the video Can someone help me id this thing? Should I be worried? If video is too murky you can switch to the HD version. |

I think it's a Barnacle. Harmless filter feeder, but I don't think that they survive in typical reef tanks long. Can you get a video with less actinics?
BTW, Euphyllias are LPS.

Definitely barnacle, Steph's right on.
We have a small one in a rock that has been there for almost a year and a half now.
