@Yorgos...first of all, you are a man of your word. You delivered my Metis Hyperion as promised and I am very impressed with the unit. Thank you again for that.
Programing the light settings have been more complex than I imagined and I need your help. Would the best place to get a PAR Scenario be from you or someone from Pacific Sun EU? Given Pacific Sun's success with the Metis it would be awesome to have one of their PAR scenarios to use a template. I will host the file and provide a link for others who are also interested in using the file. Thank you in advance for your help.

Second that. I suggest 3-5 files with small pictures showing how the light looks at a few different times.
Example, orange sunset, fiji pink sunrise etc etc |

While new software is being developed I thought this would be a perfect time to share a "Wish List" of features for the Metis R2.
Would it be possible to add a cloud feature that simulates a cloud moving from left to right over the reef? In addition, what about a lighting curve that represents light intensities over the total illumination period? A simple graph that you could view in the software that would show you what your light settings are. Last question...can you share a simple PAR Scenario while we wait for the new software?

I just got the Hyperion R2 2x150w version for my 75gal and made the following PAR table
Any input on it will be appreciated. I got no idea if it's too much/too little Some other members mentioned to put the blue first/last to get a nice sunrise/sunset mode Time start/time end/white/blue1/blue2/blue3/uv/orange/green/red 0800/0830/00/50/50/50/50/00/00/00 0830/0900/20/75/75/75/75/00/00/00 0900/0930/40/75/75/75/75/50/50/50 0930/1000/60/75/75/75/75/60/60/60 1000/1100/70/75/75/75/75/70/70/70 1100/1200/80/80/80/80/80/80/80/80 1200/1300/90/90/90/90/90/80/80/80 1300/1700/100/100/100/100/100/90/90/90 1700/1800/90/90/90/90/90/80/80/80 1800/1900/80/80/80/80/80/80/80/80 1900/2000/70/75/75/75/75/70/70/70 2000/2030/60/75/75/75/75/60/60/60 2030/2100/40/75/75/75/75/50/50/50 2100/2130/20/75/75/75/75/00/00/00 2130/2200/00/50/50/50/50/00/00/00 |

just watch you don't burn anything if you have corals in there already.

also, keep in mind the lighting that the coral is under at its source. if you purchase from a store, online grower etc., coral will need time to adjust to your LEDs. Start them down low in the water (sand) and bring up slowly along with light intensity/duration over a few weeks.

Customer support request...
Is there a reason why you won't share simple PAR scenario? I think we would all benefit from your experience with the lamp.
If my question is inappropriate please let me know. Quote:

Hello Larry,
I think that about middle of month(firmware update). Mac app is being tested already - we have few "stupid" issues with that soft?(depending from time zones - and 12h system in the USA ....@#$%^ ![]() So - if this will be "fixed" - we will publish it immediatly - I hope that within next few days(I would preffer to do it before 1st May - we have 5 days holiday in Poland...) I promise to keep you updated.. ;-) Regards Przemyslaw Cybulski |

Great product but…
Przemyslaw your lack of response to questions regarding basic settings for the Metis really confuses me. The Metis Hyperion is perhaps the most advanced LED lamp on the market and naturally your customers are going to have questions regarding how the lamp could best be used. Sure, we could turn it on and guess at settings but why do that we have direct access to the people who built, designed and have the most experience with the lamp? A simple tip or two regarding how YOU have used the lamp would really help until the next level in software is made available.
If past performance is a predictor of future results I am sure you will choose not to respond to this post. I just hope that if I ever have a problem that warrants Pacific Sun’s involvement I really hope someone will be there to help.

Question about my settings getting reset when I log into software from my computer....
It resets my max lamp power to 100 when I log on to the software. Also resets the Moon Cycle settings. All on/off times do stay how I set them. Anyone with suggestions please... Bleaching Corals at 100%

Im sorry for late reply - but between 27th April and 7th May we have short, May Holidays in Poland - and almost nobody work in these days... Im also out from the office now, but I have possibilities to reply to your questions - because I dont want to left you confused - a specially, that it isnt my special goal - or action - not replying to your questions... 1. Lamps can be used in two modes - basic(sunrise, main daylight cycle, sunset). Its most popular mode - a specially when you will set sunsrise/sunset duration for 200-240 minutes - and main dayligght cycle for about 180 minutes - it will give you superb effect - with slow light intensity increase during sunrise - and after main(full power) time - slowly decrease - like with natural sun. For example: 1. Sunrise time: 10:00 am Sunrise/sunset duration - 200 min. Total lamp power - 80% Colour studio - i personally preffer all channels workinh on 100% - only white on 85%(a specially in first months of using - Cree XM-L are super powerfull) Sunset time: 5:00 pm Sunset will finish after 8:00 pm - so total dayligth time will be little longer than 10 hours. Its very good setting for fast growth - and nice colours. 2. Second mode - PAR table This is also easy to set - even if on the first looks it can be difficult to understand. There are 40 rows in the table. Every row have record: Start time - time when this "subprogram" will start End time - time when it will be finished and 8 diffrent power settings for each channel separatly. So - if you want to use PAR table instead of basic mode - for example - between 10:00am and 8:00pm also you have to: a) set sunrise time at 10:00 am(on daylight tab) b) set sunrise/sunset duration for 0 min c) set sunset on 8:00pm after you will save it to lamp memory - go to PAR table tab - and mark first row of table. Below table you can find some cells - which will be automatically updated when you will change rows. But now you should mark first row and: a) start time - 10:00am(it first subprogram) b) end time - for example we will want to have 30 minutes sunrise in redish colours - so end time you have to set for 10:30 Now - channels power configuration - if you will put 3-6%(small values) - to Orange, Red and UV channels - it will looks like red/fire sunrise. You can review it by Live studio button. When you will choose proper colour - click Update row button - and go down to next row(first will be updated - in table - not in lamp memory! - its important!). On te second row - start time - 10:31(it have to continued - previous was finished on 10:30) - end time - 10:50(for example) . Now - using channel power cells(puting manually power for each channel - or using Live studio) - you cen set next subprogram colour for this time period(10:31 - 10:50 as it is configured) - and when you will set proper colour by sliders - click - Update row.. Etc, etc. When you will configure all rows(there dont have to be configured 40 rows - it can be use even by 3 - like above example - if I will set next row - since 10:51 to 8:00pm). But using 40 rows give you much more flexibility for creating your own, personalised looking.. Because Im "on road" now - I will try to create sample PAR program (similar to my own in my home) - and put here - customers will can download it - and put to their lamps.. But it will take for me some time - a specially when I will do it on mobile device.. ;-) So - if you Rotknee need any additional advice - please let me reply to you after our office will be open again(7th May) - I can promise you, that all your questions will be replied - and everything will be clear. So - this setting arent erased. If you want to (for example) read your moon settings - go to the Moonligth tab - and push Probe button - you will see how actual lamp configuration looks(moonlight power, mooncycle simulation on/off) etc. Regards Przemyslaw Cybulski |
