Tunze 9010 Skimmer Collection Cup problem

I have some problem with my Tunze 9010 skimmer. Does the collection cup where the inner tube that goes into the skimmer and the outer cup where they meets suppose to be smooth? or there is a joint? I can feel it with my finger there is a joint line.

All the skimmate/particle tend to stuck on the inner tubing wall while the skimmate itself is slightly off clear color. I can smell it.

Is there an option out there for a different cup without costing an arm and leg?

Yes, there is a seam, the cup is molded in 3 pieces, cup, outer tube and inner tube and these are glued together. The other options would be the 9015.140 cup, this is 4 pieces as a top 2/3rds of another cup body are cut and glued on top to increase the cup size further, the inner tube is also much longer. The 9020.140 foam extractor would be yet another option, it is one molded piece with a glued on top, it routes the foam to an external collection bucket.
