Retailer feedback and tech data

We have visited a number of aquarium retailers in Texas with exceptional response and great results. Our 10500 K bright white, blue and blue white seem quite popular to the retailers. Feedback from the retailers specializing in plant aquariums is that they also like the red Retro-Flex.

Most of the retailers see our flexible LEDs as excellent enhancement for color and shimmer and see the strips easily being installed between existing T-5 tubes. Some are considering replacing existing store fixtures over their livestock tanks with our more economical and safer LEDs. For tanks up to 24" depth they are also seeing the Retro-Flex LEDs as a potential primary T-5 replacement.

For those that would like some technical data on the Retro-Flex and Retro-Mood (RGB) LED lights we offer, here are two links for you to visit.

We hope your holidays are blessed

Reefmedic79 Response

Sorry it has taken so long to get back with you. I've been on the road introducing the product to retailers. Price may very from store to store. Our minimum price which we require retailers not to sell below is $79.08 for the Retro-Flex 34" with transformer and $60.88 without transformer.

The Retro-Mood (RGB) is $89.06 with transformer and $69.28 without transformer. Please note that the Retro-Mood must have the controller to work and we sell that separately and it included an RF remote. That minimum suggested price is

Please email [email protected] with your location and dealer location request. We will respond with the closest dealer.

Thank you for your interest.

I bought one and the tape failed after 1 week. The thing ended up in my tank.
Overall .... I would say this was a big disappointment. They were not very well built and seemed to be very dim compared to other LEDs

eco37 Response

Sorry for the late response. We did not notice your post until today. We offer a support phone number with installation tips on all of our packaging and contact information is on our website in the form of phone numbers and email addresses. Problems such as this are quickly and easily handled through those contact points. We always want to resolve any problem a customer may have with our products due to product defect. Please take advantage of these options.

We have received no support complaints to date regarding this type of problem you have mentioned. In this type of occurrence we may request the product to be returned with your proof of purchase to examine the condition of the adhesive and to determine if it was installed on a clean dry surface or if it is a product defect. Not all surfaces are conducive to installation with only the marine grade peal and stick adhesive that comes on our product such as surfaces like wood, rough porous surfaces or surfaces that are too hot. For that reason we include plastic mounting clips that enable the consumer to securely mount the product they are mounting the LED strip to with these clips screwed to the surface.

As for the brightness, we have shown this product to hundreds of retailers across the country and their first comment is that the product is extremely bright compared to the competition. The product does have a 120-degree optic lens on each LED for a broader distribution, which means less penetration. That is why we give all of our retailers in their first purchase free product that they may demonstrate to their customers before they purchase the product. Brightness is subjective and tends to be relative to everyone and what they are use to using and that is why we give the product to the retailers for display.

The product is designed for the surface to be prepared properly then applied to the surface with the mounting clips used to insure the application. If that is done there should not be an issue with the products ability to remain in place. We have designed the product to be very flexible to be manipulated in and around obstructions under the hood or canopy for a positive permanent and safe installation.

We would appreciate the opportunity to resolve and to create a satisfied customer.
