QT a Wrasse?
I brought home a Hoevens Wrasse today.
My first wrasse in QT... without sand for it to hide in, is the fish at risk? It has more or less tucked itself into a corner on its side. I see it shift position from time to time but its basically stationary. QT is a 15g with sponge filter and some PVC elbows.

I did the same with a Hoeven's (melanurus). It took him a day or two to figure it out. He wedged between the bowl and side of the tank the first couple of nights.

Wrasses have a pretty heavy slime, they don't usually catch funk as easy as most fish, but I'd still QT if possible(like you did).

I did the same and put in a glass tupperware with sand from my main tank in it. I will leave it in there though. My yellow wrasse used it too!

Well he is in a barebottom QT with some PVC and a piece of LR and he is doing fine today, I had too much LR so I put a piece in the QT (1st time using this QT tank) he is eating cyclopeeze, and NLS grow pellets today so, so far so good!
If he comes down with anything I know I will have to sterilize that LR but that's ok. Glass lid on the QT, building screens for the DT before he moves in.

Well he's a pig... he eats whatever I put in the tank...
Today he is also eating NLS Marine pellets.. (yesterday I used garlic additive with food, today no need) Very active too, yes its only 3 days since he landed in the QT, but a positive experience so far.
