looking for answers

My tank has been going for years... yesterday I did a 5 gal water change, replaced the carbon in my reactor, and scraped some stringy poypls off the back glass....... today I came home from work and all my sps are bleached and everything is closed up..fish seem fine... trying to test everything... after kids go to bed. Anyone have a thought?

digital readout says 76.2 which is a bit low, but I don't think that's it...I'm racking my brains, and the kids both swear they didn't do anything and I believe them. The water almost looks a bit cloudy.

Do u test water. If quality was low then mb this pushed it over the edge. Hard to see this being harmful to an established tank.

that cloudiness seems to point to precipitation, check the levels, calcium etc.

Yes, Kent had a recall for copper in their carbon. Hit their site and/or call them with the lot #. I'd get the carbon out first & start cleanup measures, though.

that's what it was.....the carbon. You spend all that time and money over years getting your tank the way you want it, and something stupid like this wipes out all your work in one night. I can just cry.................
