I need a fishy ID please
Hi all
![]() I was at Petco last night and came across this beautiful tangerine orange striped fish. It was sold as a striped blenny but the online pics are nothing like this guy at all. He has a few yellow spots on his back fins and then a cool yellow and orange pattern on the tail fin. I just had to have him!! He is very timid and a jumper! Thanks for the help! I appologise for the poor pics I tried alot of times and these were the best |

It's a goby of some sort; I'm not goby expert to say what species however.
A quick search makes me think Aurora Goby?

GEESH!! I just went in to check on him... found his butt on top of the egg crate! Put him back in the tank and he is doing better! WOW! I gotta watch him and rig something until I get tiny netting.

I have lost a couple of these due to jumping. A shrimp will help but they get thru eggcrate very easily. Good Luck. Beautiful fish.

I will definatly be looking for a friend for him ASAP. I read that a Randall pistol shrimp is most likely to pair up. He tried to make an area his but the clownfish recenty layed eggs near there and chased him out! I think that was the reason for the last jump. He is being stubborn and wont leave this side of the tank! Last night when I put him in he swam straight for the giant carpet anemone and got stung! So I shoooed him to a safer place but keeps going to this corner. Goofy fish!
This is the corner he wants But he has alllllll this space to go............ |

text Traci today (friday) and see if she will be at my old house working on stuff. I caught everything except my candy cane (randalli) pistol. He might still be alive in there even with an inch of water. Survived weeks in an inch of water in the last tank breakdown.
If he is and you can swing back out to tempe you can have him. Depends on Traci being over there though as I have to work that night and will be fasssst assleeeep.

![]() ![]() Ya I know.... it starts as 1 little bugger that gets ignored and becomes a field! HOWEVER most is gone now. I waited for the peppermints to do their job.... they were fired! Aptasia X was fired to! I killed them with injecting them with white vinegar! DIED MELTED almost instantly!

Funny think about your aiptasia though...they are beautiful specimines! If you're going to have them, at least they look nice...
Someone who wasn't in the hobby would probably look at them and think they were neat.

I felt bad killing the green manjos. They are like mini green bulb anemones. I kept a few didnt want to go on a killing spree and spike my water. BUT white vinegar does the trick and its CHEAP!!!

I had an anemone crab and the clowns would not let him stay on the 16" anemone so he died. I have 3 maxi-mini now but can't find the crabs at any store!
