Nice program for sharing...
Here is my program for sharing:
http://www.3reef.com/forums/led-aqua...-125992-8.html After a few months of tinkering with all sorts of color combinations, this is what I've come up with. Note, I have 120 DT (250g system) mixed reef with two Radians mounted flush inside the canopy. I have two spotlights that come on from 12pm - 9pm so the blue fade in the evening looks really sharp with the contrasting spotlights (1 Par 38 12k, 1 Home Depot LED 5k). Note, the attached program is now actually time shifted behind due to daylight savings time. (e.g., for any programming changings I would now manually alter the program clock back 1 hour). My program’s day starts at 9am (10am DST) and ends at 9pm (10pm DST). What I like most about this program is the cool blue/red early morning colours, followed by a long gradual brightening with a hint of the green I think Ecotech orignally meant to have, but this version is much more appealing (enjoy having cup of coffee late Saturday morning in recliner watching the fish and lighting come up). The main part of the day is full sprecturm, then fades into blue/red into late evening - really popping the multi colors in the tank especially the reds. Then fades into blue after midnight and then some red into the 2am hour before going dark. Makes me happy. Take a look or try it on and let me know what you think. If you've come up with anything interesting, likewise share. Regards Richard |

** Updated April 9 2012: moonlight blue added after blue/red twighlight hour, which fades to sublte red before darkness. Same in morning - moonlight blue after subtle red startup **
From months of tinkering with color combinations, this modified "natural" program is quite pleasing to our family, so happy to share it. For reference, I have a 120g DT (250g system) mixed reef, with two Radians mounted flush inside the canopy. To accent the Radian colors with increased shimmer, I have installed two simple spotlights on from 12:30pm - 10pm. This makes the daytime really look like sunlight, and the evening blues really standout by contrasting narrow rays of sun shimmering down through the water. The spotlights are a Par38 12k from Marine Depot and a 5K LED from Home Depot. My daylight period is 9:30am to 9:30pm. I have sublte color on until 2am and again starting at 6am. We like to see the creatures when up late on weekends and early on workdays. The top three things I like about this program are (1) moonlight blues in early morning and late evening, (2) long gradual brightening in the morning with hint of green (as I think Ecotech orignally meant to have but this is much more ascetically appealing), and (3) blue/red evening (almost purple) which really pops the multi colors in the tank, especially the reds. This template is easily adjusted to fit your lifestyle, tastes and tank. If you find other interesting displays, please share! Regards Richard Last edited by rbsalthobby; 04/09/2012 at 06:56 AM. |

Your extracted zip is saving a etp file and the Radion program is looking to import etg files?
I have not imported a shared program yet, but it could not find the file even though I knew it was there due to the file extension difference. |

.etg is the just the graph, .etp is the entire project. Do a "file" "Open project" to read it.

I have had a 180 gallon since February, and trying to get my lights right. I've experienced some bleaching on the few corals I have in place, and so have been compensating by decreasing my brightness. I've reviewed the other programs, and my program seems signfiicantly different. I'm curious as to whether someone will give me an opinion as to my settings. The tank is 24 inches deep, 5 feet long and the 3 radions are mounted approximately 10 inches above the tank. Attached is my program, via a excel file of the settings. I can't figure out how to attach the .etp file. Thanks for any help.

Hey Wade
The folks at Ecotech may be able to say if not having full spectrum any part of the day is contributing to the bleaching. Since its a new tank, are you dosing trace elements (and base elements). The Red Sea website has a good overview of the need to dose trace elements for coral health - using their Reef Care Program (which I have been using for 4 months so far with good result). Glad to see alternate programs. By the way you can attach your program by zipping it first. Regards Richard

Thanks for the reply Richard. Yes, using Red Sea salt and dosing with Aquavitro Fuel for additional trace elements. Also, auto dosing calcium, 8.4, Ions, and No-Pox tied into an Apex controller. Manual dosing Vibrance and Reef Builder. So far my water tests have all come out perfect. Yesterday, a LFS tested my RO and think its time to change the filters. Its only been three months, but my TDS is high. Last night, also spoke with David00061 who gave me some advice.

Jon at ecotech was nice enough to log into my computer and review my project. He tweaked it a bit by adjusting the times, but not the color spectrum. We'll give it a go, and its attached here for anyone interested. Also, last night David0061 was nice enough to give me his opinion via phone. Thanks to all. I look foward to knowing more about what people find works.

Resurrecting an old thread here, but as a new owner of a Radion, I would be eager to hear if Richard has made an update to this schedule?
On another somewhat related note, I am using the new ecosmartlive online, it does not seem like an option to upload a project anymore. Richard, do you have the etg file that you could share? Thanks in advance, Jeremy |
