Shroom/ rico competition

I recently got a frag with 2 red mushrooms on it. they broke free from their rock and got taken by the flow. One decided to settle right next to a small ricordea. They are just about touching a definitely will with a couple days growth.
Will they live happily eve after together, each starting its own colony- or will one out compete or sting the other into submission. I'll move one if necesary, but they are a PITA to get out from the holes they've attached themselves to, so that's the next question- how to detach them.
