Please help identify this?

Ok I need help identifying this. I believe its a type of sponge but I'm not sure, because i can't find any info or pics on it. It started as a small spot on the side of a flame scallop that recently died after about 1 1/2 years. It's just been growing and growing. It has two volcano like openings that release bubbles every so often, and close when movement occurs close by. It's blackish blue and slightly transparent. I'm just wondering if its a type of algae? And if should be removed from the tank. Any help? Oh and its in my 40 gal reef tank.

Actually I may have found it to be a sea squirt. Hmmm but no info other than where it comes from. Can anyone agree, or have any info.

Phallusia nigra or black sea squirt, used to have 2 in my tank.
They are typically velvety and somewhat soft.
I found a site about them http://www2.bishopmuseum.org/HBS/inv...usia_nigra.htm
