MP40 Wet Side Solid non-Vented Area Placement

I own two the of MP40 Wireless pumps and have a question about the placement of the wet side assembly. There is a solid area, not vented, on the assembly. I was wondering if it matters where that solid area should go, as in top, bottom, left, right or it simply doesn't matter. I can't seem to find it addressed in the manual. Any advice or input in to this question would ease my mind.

Thanks!

It's designed to minimize sand/water from being pulled into the wetside, dependent on placement.

For example; if your wetside is close enough to the water surface that it might draw air (creating a vortex), simply turn the closed portion towards the surface.
