I haven't had it drop once since upgrading to that same version. Been a couple of weeks at least.

I have the same problem. I got the apex especially because of the net and email alarms. But every day, sometimes in one hour I need to reset either the apex or my Motorola router. I get everything working fine and it will sometimes go a week without it happening, but it never fails when I leave for the weekend it errors out on me. Getting really disappointed in this apex. Even the access on the home network is hit or miss. I'm gonna buy another router, and if that doesn't fix the problem, the apex is going on ebay. Ugh sorry about the ranting but I've had IT guys from work try and figure it out with no luck. $500 is alot to pay for something that doesn't work correctly.

Im having same problem. Emailed Paul at neptune. Hoping to have a response soon. Can someone elaborate on the telnet? Im at work, had my GF use the display to restart the web server and connection was re-established. I could not telnet in before but now It tries to connect but gives me an error. The error is below. Can someone take a screenshot of what the telnet login is supposed to look like or if there are special commands to get to the login stuff?

Error:

Telnet will not work on any other port but 23. Guess its the logic set up in the apex. I did however get it working normally. Static ip for both gaming adapter, and apex below the DHCP range. Above it wouldnt yield a dependable connection. Paul called me back and we spoke, but my ISP (Suddenlink) had all but 3 ports blocked. They finally gave me 3 ports to use that would always be open. Now all is well. Every couple weeks the webserver has to be rebooted but I can live with that.

Update. ISP was blocking all ports except 3 of them. Using one of them now and static ip below DHCP range but in subnet yields a solid connection every time.

Same issue, highly variable though, it hasn't happened much in the last couple of months thankfully, but it had been up to once every couple of days. HOWEVER, I just updated to the 4.12 firmware and now my graphs no longer work in the aquanotes iPhone app (or the new Apex app), they work fine in the web interface though.

Update to my firmware update issue:

At midnight last night all of my graphs on my mobile devices started working (Apex and AquaNotes apps on iPhone and iPad). It appears that only data recorded on the first data after the firmware update is displayable in the mobile apps. At the moment I have about 16.5 hours worth of graph-able data. Odd, but I'm glad the problem worked itself out, and the new Apex app's graph looks much better, especially on my iPad.

Hopefully the web interface will stop dropping out for me with the new firmware.

My connectivity was a real issue. It was hard to program outlets since I was losing connectivity so frequent. I e-mailed Neptune and Paul and Curt worked on it and came up with:

Has to be done on the display, cannot be done on the web.

Setup/network then turn aquaserv off....then reboot.

Mine is now working without any connectivity issues.

Aqua-serv is not used as of now so no loss of features. I hope this helps someone because it was a real pain rebooting so often!

Arnold40, what version of firmware is on your Apex? That AquaServ thing is a really old issue - I haven't heard of that being a problem in quite a while.

Aqua-serv is not used as of now so no loss of features.
For the benefit of other readers, I'm going to rephrase this, and expand upon it a bit:

AquaServ is a (possible) future capability. Part of AquaServ is the Apex firmware (and the most recent AC3/AC3P firmware). The rest of it is not yet available, so there is no need to have the feature enabled in the controller. There are options in the display menus to enable/disable/configure the AquServ feature. These options are among the few options which are not available in the Apex (& AC3) web pages.

AquaServ - if enabled - in some cases has been the cause of spurious Apex reboots. Neptune had Arnold40 navigate through the display menu to disable AquaServ, which appears to have resolved his issue.

Has anyone tried using a ethernet to wireless adapter? When I had the apex hard wired to router didnt have any problems losing connection but then again it wasnt connected for long periods of time because the router is on the other side of the room from the apex so was always unplugging and plugging in when I needed to do something on the apex. I bought the wireless converter so I could have it connected all the time and looks like I am having the same problem a lot are having where it works for a few hours and then disconnects.

There are a lot of people using wireless gaming adapters/wireless bridges without any issues. The most popular model seems to be the Netgear WNCE2001. I have 2, both on BR players, and never have any issues at all. I will tell you right up front though that the 2Wire routers provided by AT&T often do not "play nice" with the WNCE2001.

You need to narrow down the problem... what exactly are the symptoms? Is the wireless adapter losing connection to the router? What do you do to get connectivity again? Reboot the router? Reboot the wireless gizmo? Reboot the Apex?

I use to have the Apex disconnect/ lock up where I couldn't access the unit from the net about once a week. Ever since I upgraded to the newest firmware, problem was solved. I had to do a restart the other day to reset some profiles, and that was the first reboot in over two months. Just FYI
