Did I make it?

Hello, I have a 150 Gallon set up mid June. We have had a clown, hermit, and clam all doing well for a few weeks. My water tests as follows: Amonia=.50, NitrIte=.25, NitrAte=between 5.0-10.0, and PH=8.2 And a sudden bloom of green Algae covering the live rock and diatom in the sand ect. Am I ready to slowly start adding more or are my levels off?? Thanks ever so much for all the help!

If you are showing ammonia and nitrite your cycle isn't done. You shouldn't have a fish in there yet alone a clam!

And our LFS said to get a fish in there... in a 150 gallon the levels wouldnt jump that high to harm a single clown?? Did they tell me wrong?

When you said clam I was assuming a
tridacna clam. I believe in a fishless cycle, but your clownfish should make it.

Cycle is not done yet though once ammonia and nitrite are at 0 i would do a water change to get nitrates down

The clown will probably make it, but with that much ammonia if it could talk you would hear it screaming, "It burns. It burns. Ooooh it burns."
