Mushroom steal!
Today I was was working at the LFS and I was cleaning a frag tank. while I was cleaning, I saw this small Electic Blueish mushroom that had fallen through the rack. I picked it up and showed it to my manager and asked what kind it mushroom it was. He said it was a Blue Crush mushroom. I asked how much it was worth, I orginally thought $10 for 2 tiny little heads. He said each head was worth $30 for each head.
![]() It gets better though. Because I'm a "Volunteer", I'm under the age limit to legally work, I have to get paid some how or other for my work. So I got the Mushroom for $15. Plus a huge Pipe Organ coral for another $15 ![]() But my question is, has anyone even kept/heard of a "Blue Crush" mushroom. I might post Pics later, I'm waiting for it to inflate.

I'm not sure on the name, I think It's Crush but it could be something else like, "Cruss" or "Cruck" with all the pumps running It's hard to hear at my LFS.

There aren't many named mushrooms, maybe the owner coined it himself? If you like it then great!
Is it a discosoma, or a ricordea florida or yuma or rhodactis? I wanna see I like all the varieties and colors they come in.

Discosoma.
I asked two other people there, co-worker and manager if they could ID it, they said right away "Blue Crush" I could just be a sucker, but if my LFS thinks it's valuable then I'll be able to sell them back to the LFS for a lot of money over time.

The problem with the names are there usually made up.What a vendor may call Blue Crush another will have the exact same one and call it some other name.If you get a chance post a pic of the Shroom.I just started an all Shroom Nano.Im starting to see some unreal colored ones online.I just bought a few last week.Love the colors.

Here's one from a quick google search: http://www.toadpool.com/dbimages/10d_2821.jpg

If the pics that trinidiver posted are the ones you have, you got screwed on your "deal." I have like 100 of those in my tank. Where's this lfs you work at? I might just have to drop off some rocks of mine that are loaded with them if he's selling them $30 a pop.

Never expect positive results whenever you throw out how much you paid for something.....if you got it for free, there will be someone that will say you got taken as they got two for free.....LOL It is usually amplified when you say you got it for a "steal".
Enjoy your nice mushroom! |

+1 to the quoted post above. and to the thread starter, "Hey man! Great find! Really cool you're working in your LFS for some volunteer hours! Post some pics if you can of your newest addition Don't listen to these guys in here about money and stuff, enjoy what you've worked for! "

Westminster - that's a 'nem - not a shroom. You posted a maxi mini carpet anemone.

I agree, hes young, into the hobby and volunteering HIS time. No matter what, you got a nice mushroom, you like it and thats all that matters. Some people have access to cheap corals, I recently paid 15 for 3 lavender mushrooms but have seen red tongas for 15 a polyp it all depends on your location, and availability of corals. If there is only one store in 15-20 miles they can pretty much charge what they feel like.
