We generally try and take the photo after the new topic is selected, but I doubt anyone is going in and checking the EXIF data to verify.

The pics are supposed to be takin after the subject is chosen, but unless data is left on the pic, we'd never know. Nice shot!!!

Now this is cool! When did this start? Jesse, this might be just the inspirational push I need to get my butt back in gear. I have so rarely done anything with the camera for fun in the last year...these threads look pretty cool!

Started about six weeks ago. Ny work hasn't allowed me to really get out much this year. I wanted at least to pick out something to do a shoot on once a week, plus I hope it helps keep others active during the summer months. Doing it this way, I never know what it will be, and for most, I'm trying to think a bit "outside the box." Whomever wins gets to choose the next subject, the winner chooses the next topic. Join in.
I picked up a D300 a couple months back>

Nice! I'm still learning my D7000...and learning it does NOT perform on par with my trusty D200. My favorite lenses just don't work quite the same on it so I've been having to learn their sweet spots all over again. I like this concept! I'll have to give it a try and see what shakes out.

Doug's appeals to me the most as it totally grabs me. Patwa's is excellent but does not pull me in quite the same way. But since I am not submitting I can only admire.

Doug's is very nice, but I think Patwa's is more to the essence of the theme "colourful". So you win, congrats.

New theme!
gonna go with the opposite of our last catergory
"Melancholy" think of pics that relate a sense of sadness, sorrow, gloominess, bluesy, destroyed, ominous, etc. also, coz it's pretty overcast and cloudy where I am right now  think of abandoned buildings, overgrown railways, high contrast black and white subjects, rusted objects, overcast skies, storm clouds over an area, etc i'll get it started! storm clouds over Toronto
