Great build! Congratulations

Quick question.... Do you remember what brand is the fixture that you gutted to build your hybrid? Did it had the moonlights in it or you retrofit them too?

-No, I don't. I picked it up locally from a member, maybe he will jump in with the brand...(ReeferSteve). The moonlights were part of the fixture. Which is great because the Kessils cut off at about 12%

The long-term plan is still to try a calcium reactor, as it's new territory for me. I know I've talked about this since getting this tank started, but the sump is eventually moving to the basement (probably during February recess, I'm a teacher). In the meantime, I am going to use the Jebao dosing pump, and I am using B-Ionic for two-part, as the tank is only consuming like 15 mls of each part at this point. I was getting air bubbles on the discharge side of all three heads, so I did the roller flip mod that is floating around the web. I had to do the same thing with the pump on my old tank.

Where the lines go into the sump, ignore the mess of cords, things will be cleaned up when the sump moves (man, I say that a lot):

Any way that you can upload a short video giving us a tour of your equipment and tank. I'm really curious to see how the shimmer of the kessils looks like with T5 combination.

My wife works in Syracuse (she's a travel nurse) and we live in Rochester. My daughter is with her mother half of the time, so I have the unique situation of having lots of time just me, the dogs and the tank. I am working on being able to just sit and enjoy, instead of constantly tinkering

Amazing setup, really liking this tank. Curious how you find the wavs compared to a couple mp40's. I'm so torn between the two for my next build.

I've watched the videos twice now. Very well done sir. The ghost overflow really is slick. Can't wait to see this sucker next February.

I cannot compare, as I've only ever used an MP10. I can say I really like that they are directional, unlike Vortechs.

Just curious whats going under the stand once you move the sump- frag tank? A slide out work table would be pretty sweet.

That is a great question. My wife wants me to keep it open. I have tossed around the idea of building a hollow book case (not sure if I am explaining that well), where there are three sections that are framed out in wood with shelves, but you can see through it. Most of the electronics will be downstairs, so I don't need a lot of space under there.

Beautiful and well planned set up. I now imagine how clean everything will look when the equipment moves to the basement.

Thank you for posting the videos. I saw them on my mobile, I would like to replay them on my laptop and so I can pay more attention to them. I'm sure that I'll have a couple of questions for you after that.

How many fish and what kind are the ones you housing right now? I saw a Blue Hippo (I would love to have one, but them I'll be obligated to upgrade my 75 gallons). What other wish fish or corals you have on the list?

Water change and maintenance done and the tank is looking stellar this morning:

Tests read:

PH: 8.1
Alk: 8.5 dKH (Hanna)
Cal: 450 (Red Sea)
Mag: 1400 (Red Sea)
PO4: .04 (Hanna ULR Phosphorus)

One of the ongoing challenges with this tank has been figuring out the flow. With the peninsula, I have struggled a bit with generating enough flow to satisfy the SPS, while not interfering with the overflow, and getting the mass of water moving towards the drain end.

I bit the bullet last night an picked up a Maxspect Gyre XF150 and Icecap Apex module. I had a Gyre on my old 120 and loved it, but with the dual megaflows on the back wall, it never really did what I needed it to do. I placed the new Gyre on the far end of the tank (something I was hoping to avoid, but now that it is there, I honestly barely notice it. I have it on pulse at about 40%, and all I can say is WOW. Maxspect upgraded the paddles, which can be seen here: http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...418285&page=83

They claim there is no improvement in flow, but I'm not sure that is true.

Jason at CF price matched BRS, so I was able to save on the shipping, and the wait, which my impatience appreciated.
