My Nuvo Fusion 10 - DIY LEDs and more

This tank sort of happened by accident. I have been designing a small LED fixture for a few months, as well as a custom aquarium controller with a Raspberry Pi and AVR. The goal was to have everything fully planned and vetted for a 50G or so tank once our family finds a new place and moves. But, I decided that it doesn't really do much good to test everything without a real life aquarium to experiment on. The metal has to meet the road, so to speak.

So, I found a used IM Fusion 10 and started cycling everything about two weeks ago. The lights are over the tank and look great, but I'm already discovering a few things and have more plans in mind.

Here's a current crappy cell shot of the tank. I'll try to update with some better pics soon:

The tank is at day 15 of cycling and still has ammonia in the water, so I'm currently in a holding pattern. Here's a short list of what I've got running

* Custom LED build (about 55 watts total power). LEDs on 7 channels as follows:

Here's a link to a (messy) spreadsheet with the build details. I'll try to clean it up some

* Tunze 6045
* Tunze Silence 1073.008 for return
* ATO using pressure sensor for depth readings
* Basic 50W heater
* Raspberry PI and AVR for temperature, ATO, fan and pump control

Currently in the works:

* 4x8" fuge in the second compartment. The plan is to use 2xRoyal Blue and 2xPhoto Red LEDs, scape off the black coating on the glass over that compartment. This should provide about 10W of power over a small area and plenty of PAR since the depth is only 3" and the emitters are so close. I'm probably going to block out the other chambers with thin black acrylic to prevent algae growth in them.
* pH monitoring based on
* Alerting when things get out of wack or failures occur.
* Raspberry Pi Camera for remote monitoring

I've also got a simple web-based UI for everything I've built. It's ugly but functional:

Some top-down shots from today, one with AB+ program and the other with more whites.

Came to have a peek, since you post on my Automation Build Thread.

Photo's missing. So I can't see you project.

Nice find for the PH monitor DIY.
I looked into this option but felt too complex for me.
Then I figured out that I could cheat and get basic PH check OK from Apex (If one has a apex).
