new build = 84"L x 24"W x 30"H 265 US GALLONS
Marineland 265. Millie @ CF building the stand. Reef Savvy Ghost overflow arrived today. Going Radion. It's happening... but I'm not sure if I'm going to bother taking pix and saving them to an online host site and posting links to RC threads the old fashioned way. It's so time consuming....too frustrating!
I will continue to post pix to URS on fb because it's so crazy easy to do so

Gary, you may be the one that gets me to cross over to FB. If nothing else, to lurk.

URS on fb is an open group- meaning the public can see it without joining the group. There are several local (western NY) reefkeeping/aquarium groups on fb.
For those unaware about fb (and I know there's still some out there because I was a holdout for a long time): What you will find with fb is that YOU choose who can friend/follow you. YOU choose who you want to friend/follow. You connect with all the big names in reefkeeping AND their research/links/likes etc. Many fb groups aren't open to public- you must join them. One closed fb group I would HEARTILY recommend joining is GLOBAL DIVE COMMUNITY. Pure underwater picture heaven! Mindblowing stuff- the kind of pix that can resucitate a reefkeeper from the 20 year doldrums. Just my opinion but fb format is better suited to smart phone than laptop. It scrolls like a magic carpet on my phone. You can post a picture directly from a smart phone's camera without leaving fb- hell, you can post video, 360 video and livestream without leaving fb. I understand the resistance. Master technology- don't let technology master you!

Ugh . I'm almost ready to move into a cave. Fb , snapchat, rc was about all I can tolerate. With photobucket mucking up the 2 forums I visit.... might be able to quit social media cold turkey. I work with grown men who love Justin bieber and pintrist. Gary for the love of god, don't let me catch you wearing skinny jeans

If you don't keep moving there will be no need to move into a cave!
Have no fear- no beebs or skinny jeans on my fb feed and I still take my coffee black. You guys are a trip.

Can't wait to see pics of this Gary - don't leave us holdouts in the dark forever. And no, I will never join the dark side. For multiple reasons, personal and professional.

7 by 2 x 30 " high? SEEMS LIKE A PITA? I know you have a method to the madness. Millie and joe are great local resources. Think I volunteered to move the old tank . 7 foot shouldn't be too bad. 3 radions?

URS on fb is a great option. As long time followers are aware, I don't often fbomb.

yes- it will be interesting. I'm willing to bet it will still be LEDs.
T & crew have waited a long time to make the switch on that particular display. When it comes to aquarium lighting, this isn't their first rodeo... and TRS is one of the last shops I know of making the switch to LED on an outstanding in-store display tank formerly lit by halides and T5. Were halides one of the reasons it remained outstanding? We shall see. Maybe I'll crate up my halides and save them JUST IN CASE. Sanjay, Randy Donowitz and a lot of others have made the jump to LED over their SPS. I've seen enough that I'm finally convinced. It's time. EcoTech Marine- I have a hunch you see my posts. When you list specs of a Radion unit you should include weight along with dimensions. I'm having a difficult time finding that info. For those unaware, BRS TV posted a video yesterday on converting the BRS 160 to the Triton method.

Are the leds showing the longevity they advertise? I have lost several in my house. My m80 came in a pfo box in 04.
Nyseg is going to miss you: Leds, non high head pump; heaters will make up a wee bit of it. Glad you stayed tall. What i always liked most about your tanks is that they are as much a fish tank as a reef tank. Imo, fish display better with the extra water coloum. Sent from my SM-S120VL using Tapatalk

I poked around the web after looking at Tom's AI 's. Thought I read a bunch of people having bad luck with them . Some brand new , some a few months old . Horrible customer service, if they could get a response at all. Most seemed impressed when they ran. I was impressed , but reviews made me gun shy . Tried led on my sump. Some unit from Brs. Blue already crapped out. Ecotech seems to stand behind their product, cost is way high. reminds me of craftsman tools. I've had better luck buying habor freight stuff. I dunno, seen some nice tanks with cheap chinese black boxes. do u hope I ecotech outperform 5 black boxes? replacing my reefbrite ballast was a PITA and costly. that said, my halide ballast was well maintained and ventilated. It pooped the bed with 2 yrs of use ? metal halide stuff is getting harder to find and difficult to maintain. Spoke with hydroponic guys. at least the plant guys all use universal connections . Salt water wanted me to get an electrical engineering degree. Cut this wire, splice this plug, yadda yadda. I just want stuff to work. Price doesn't seem to matter. I bought high end , went cheap, I can't tell anymore.
