Blue hammer coral
So I found this on the divers den and can't find many people with them. Are they rare or just not that desireable. I think it's beautiful and hopefully looks like the picture. Never seen a blue one before.

it looks like the marble ones (purple/green) don't see any blue other than the blue light

I have one that is similar to that. Keep in mind it will only appear blue under strong actinic lights (and no other light to wash the color out). Under normal/mixed lights, it will apear pink to light purple.

It comes in tomorrow. And it is labeled as a blue Aussie hammer coral. I would hope the color is actually blue. I've heard of them in other forums. Wouldn't imagine they would label it blue and it not be blue

Keep us posted, I hope yours is blue under non-actinic lights too.

It just arrived in and has been in the tank for about 2 hours. What I see so far is green but it isn't remotely close to opening. Just a tiny bit. Won't make any conclusions til she is open. I see some blue coming through alread. It may indeed be blue

That has been and will be an ongoing issue, true coloring versus photo image. Still a cool looking hammer though .

I have a blue hammer, picked it up at petco of all places.
True baby blue under even a flashlight. If they are this rare I should put it somewhere that will suite it better as it has never split in the year I have owned it. |
