RBTA split....Excited!
I can't believe it!!
I've had this nem for years and hes maybe doubled in size but that's it. I've had him under the Current Marine Orbits the past 3 years. Last month they fried so I started the daunting task of researching lights. I knew I needed new ones but nothing was dying and they are expensive so I put it off. Now being forced to, I decided on ReefBreeder Photon V2. My corals are so amazing under these new lights..Even at 30% to acclimate my current corals, the difference is night and day. I thought it was too much light at 30%for him because after 3 weeks of the new lights my nem started to get shifty and stretch his foot out along the rock. This morning before work it looked like he was trying to get under the rock to the shade but instead he was splitting! I'm so excited. This is the first nem I've had reproduce in my tank. I'm certain it was the upgrade in lighting ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

Congrats! Radical changes in tank parameters (large volume water change, lighting) can cause splits. You'll have to wait another few months to see if you get another split due to the lights being "better," or if this split was simply because the lights were different. Good luck.

I was thinking the same thing, it was the change in lights. Either way, very cool!
