Wow.... Some of this just amazes me..
There are quite a few problems with what I am reading here and I am going to offer up my position on alot of this.

Tacocat was 100% correct with what he posted except about my lights. I run 2 250W 14K MH SunPods in the middle and 2 150W 14K MH Sunpods on the ends. Tacocat (Hector) saw the coral a couple months after I got it from him and it was solid orange. I have moved it 2 times since and lowered it and finally the lower growth edges are showing some green. while keeping the orange mouths. I have never offered a frag of it until this event.

What bothers me is that there is an accusation here that I was lying to make more money or something. I want to make sure that everyone reading this knows that I donot and will not name a coral something that it is not. As an example, at the first SW-CFM, I had a monti there that was just like superman. EVERYONE asked me about my "SUPERMAN" I explained that it was not from the original "SUPERMAN" and that It was from wild collected piece that I had brought in the year before. I name it "AWE Mile High Monti" I repeated that 100 times that day.

The ME pieces I offered were fragged off the piece I received from Hector (Tacocat) which he verified was the Mummy Eye. I DONOT like anyone saying that I tried to pass something off as something it wasn't. I don't do that. I have been attending Fragswaps and CFM's since 2003. I value my reputation and will not allow someone to flame me with their ignorance.

About ignorance... I am ignorant on alot of the coral names and stuff like that. When Hector brought me the ME, he also brought a piece of another chalice. I remembered it as being a Tubs Watermelon that he said he brought. I brought my first frag of it to the BA - CFM and showed it to Hector. He said he thought he had brought me a Rasta Chalice. The piece was sold shorlty after that. Yes I make mistakes but I never attempted to "Pass something off"

As far as my ORA Prices. I have supported ORA about 10 years. They have always been good to me and in turn are good to you.

At the show my ORA Prices were as follows:

ORA Purple Plasma May 2008 Release: $110
ORA Pearlberry Jan 2008 Release: $100
ORA Hawkin's Blue Echinata Jan 2008 Release $100
ORA Oregon Tort Jan 2008 Release $100
ORA Dustin's Deepwater Jan 2008 Release $90
ORA Phil's Granulosa Jan 2008 Release $90
ORA Roscoe's Blue Acro 2007 Release $65
ORA Rose Millepora Older release $55
ORA Blue Tort Older Release $55
ORA GReen Polyp Stylophora Older Release $45
ORA ORange Digitatta Older release $45
ORA Pink Birdsnest Older Release $40
ORA Tricolor Valida Older Release $45

That's off recollection. I had 15 different Named ORA corals totalling 55 individual corals.

Every ORA coral I sell comes direct from ORA and stays intact until it is sold.

You can find cheaper ORA retailers. I have my pricing set up and I offer all kinds of specials at the shows. As most of you know... Just talk to me and we'll figure out a way to make it work.

I had a great show, especially considering the the lower attendance. It's always fun to talk "Shop" with some great reefers.

I thank those of you who came out to the BA-CFM. It was definitely a good time.

I thank those of you who defended the things that were said about me here.

In all honestly pick up your newest issue of the kick azz RHM and read up about it or visit www.bareefers.org..

Tacocat, were you the asian guy who picked up the last pearlberry at the end of the show? I remember me and my girlfriend looking around and turning back to get it and it was gone...if that was you, i remember you offering it to us without hesitation...we both felt that was real cool and its good to know there are reefers like that out there..

Yes Tacocat ( Hector) had already told me he wanted it but when he saw you guys were interested he was cool with you guys getting it. He even waited about 10 minutes after you left to see if you'd come back.

lol...

Sold out of the Pearlberry's . I will have more in June when I order from ORA.

""""""out of all the corals i got from AWE the only one That didn't make it IS PEARLBERRY

lapsan"""""""""""

Sorry to hear. We'll have to work something out.

I actually re bagged up my remaining corals and didn't release them down here here in SoCal until 3:30 PM on Monday. I only lost 6 acros.. 2 different species. So something wasn't right in those 2 cups... lol.

Definitely remind me next year or E-mail me or PM me and we'll figure it out if you want to do it sooner.

Thanks for your business.

Still hoping those oxypora's turn into something nice Todd. I will be sure to send you pics with progress.

I split them up between my frag tank an my main tank to play with different levels of light.

bummer to hear the negativity about some of this. funny everyone complains about pirces, coral ids and such. even a complaint about a local vendor showing up. as a vendor we could always choose not to go. there by leaving you with what your lfs has to offer. every vendor that i recall traveled to get to this event. Todd from awe venture was probably the fartherest other then the lady from utah. Todd deserve propls for doing this so long and providing good service and nice frags.i know personally i made huge sacrifices by going to this. my weekend before preping. friday night driving to tryee place to drop things off. saturday night droping live corals off sunday night mondya morning 2.00am picking up remaining corals. not seeing mom on mothers day. all for the passion of the hobbie and seeing freinds. money is a motive but on the bottom of the list. i mainly wanted to go for new frags that i have not seen yet.

so lets make it simple ***** and complain about every detail and and downfall of the event and many of us may not go next year. if you think you can provide a solution for the problem lets hear it. if you want to ***** and complain take it out on your significant other like you usually do. not the vendors.

Amen !!!
Please note that most attendees were having fun at the market and appreciated all the vendors who made it to the market. Please do not get discouraged by only one or two people that all they can do is complaining. In any group or crowd, there will be one of those. There are plenty of cool reefers here in NorCal, so I wish one of two negative comments will not discourage you and other vendors for next year BACFM.

Richard is so right, it's easy to ***** and complain, and not do anything to help. Especially when you have no experience with event planning, coral farming, and the unexpected things that ALWAYS occur when putting on event like the BACFM.

To me though the most upsetting part is the use of a club forum that supports captive propagation as it's mission statement to be negative towards something that actually fits into the clubs ethos.

BAR supports the BACFM as it is a model of how farmers and hobbyists can get together and exchange coral and information to further the hobby. Although it may not be perfect it is the future like it or not, our hobby is inches away from having all imports taken away from us. If we do not do our best to support events like the BACFM and captive propagation, I'll see you at the Star Trek convention, or the Comic Book store.

I think the complaints, name calling and advertisements have gone on long enough.
