Check out this video

Hey gang, I wasn't sure where to post this, here or the photography section, but.......

My LFS sent me this link to an amazing video. It is a time lapse of various types and color varieties of Montipora coral.

http://vimeo.com/5535194

Enjoy!

Both links take you to the same video. Although, the one posted above it the original link.

sweet vid. It was interesting to see the plate actually moving in some of the shots.

That was really cool. I guess that he just took a video and sped it up? Beautiful montis as well.

He used a focusing rail with the 5D Mark II and for that video I'm pretty sure he shot with the 100mm f/2.8 and MP-E 65mm macro. He's into time lapsing, and the resulting videos he makes are amazing.

I'm pretty sure he uses Adobe After Effects to do the editing.

I have a zoa/paly/LPS video that I made before this one (was actually my demo reel for the stock footage house I license my clips through)...I'll get around to posting it eventually.

Also regarding editing, for this film I used jpegs + virtualdub + sony vegas with zero computer generated effects added (*everything you see is in camera). For my current work I shoot RAW and finish my clips in 4k resolution with after effects.
