And they have electronic ballast and built in timers, and even come with the bulbs. Going to check them out this weekend, since they are local.

Their brand name used to be "jebo" and has now changed to "Oddysea"

I use two of the 48" PC's on my FOWLR. I like them, especially for what I paid for them. I have used them for over a year now, without incident and they have since made some improvements, such as cooling fans, a better housing (powder coated aluminum, instead of plastic)

I am considering trying out their T5's and their new line of Metal Halides

Not at all. What Im saying is that Jebo equipment sells cheaper than the rest of its competitors. If what the above poster said is true that they have changed thier name it stands to reason thats why they are cheaper.

it would be interesting to find out what brand ballast and bulb come with the fixture, i'm in the process of setting up another 72g bow that i was planning on using an old pc fixture for until i saved the money for another mh set up, but, this could be an answer, would love to find some one that is using the jebo mh

Should I upgrade to this?

Right now I have a AGA Dual Tube that I overdrove, but at best it's pushing 50w or so.. over my 25g.. I hope someday to get a few peices of coral and a BTA for some clowns.

Come both in 2x55w and 2x65w versions too..

we all need someone with first hand experience. some of these deals are just too tempting to pass up, but, if its real junk its not a deal at all.

daver

as I posted above....have used some of their stuff for over a year now....works great

The only knocks seem to be that the bulbs may not be the exact color temperature that they claim to be, but they still work great and the bulbs, if you so choose, can be replaced

i was looking at the 2x150 hqi w/20k with the t5. i not concerned about the t5 bulbs, they are cheap enough to replace right off the bat if the color is bad, but, if the hqi's are of bad quality or not really 20k that would cost some money

The only issue I can see is the reflectors on the MH setups. They are using the hammered reflector which negates the advantages of DE lighting to a degree. It will probably work fine, but it won't perform as well as a PFO mini or ROIII.

Well I have one of the jebo skimmers I havent used it yet but its very heavy duty and well made..I also have used their 110 watt pc set ups, I ended up adding a fan to mine, about the only complaint I have is the reflectors suck on them..Other than that they are a good buy specialy for something like fuge lighting or a QT tank or hell even if your trying to set up a reef on a budget..

Those halides though wow you cant beat that deal even if the reflector isnt the greatest..

Im going to try out the T5 set up and the 24 inch halide set up..

I notice that their T5 are 21 watt. If I wanted to replace those with 54 watt T-5 HO bulbs would that work or would I need a different ballast?
