Very New To Saltwater

My Equipment

75 Gal Aquarium
20 Gal L Sump

1500 GPH Gl*******s Overflow
Eheim 1262 return pump with 3/4 return pipe
Eshopps x-120 Protein Skimmer
Current USA 48-60" led light
2 x Hydor 1500 GPH Power Heads
300W Fluval Heater
80 lbs of caribsea sand

So i have been reading about this hobby and buying various stuff. i have not drilled the holes or ran the plumbing yet. i was wondering if the 1500 GPH overflow and the 1262 Pump would work well together or should i get something else? Should i connect both holes out of the 1500 gph into 1 pipe that goes into a sock?

Should be fine, you could also look at the shadow overflow, or Eshopps Eclipse overflows. I use an eclipse and love it.

While this would probably work ok, I prefer to use an over rated DC pump. This allows me to better control the flow, or add on additional equipment if needed. Also they are quieter, more energy efficient, and produce less heat. If you don't want to get a Jebao, you can look at the Skimz DC Pumps. If you are looking to keep ANY corals or anemones, I would not recommend this light. It is great for a fish only system, but inadequate for any but the LOWEST light corals.
2 x Hydor 1500 GPH Power Heads
Again, these will work, but it is better to have wavemaker pumps that can create random flow patterns. I use the Jebao pumps, but you can also get coralbox, current, Ecotech, etc...
300W Fluval Heater
I would recommend using 2 smaller heaters on a temp controller. This will help eliminate the risk of cooking your tank if the heaters fails on.

You want to have the first drain be a full siphon, the other will have just a tiny but of water going into it. Plumbing the two together could quickly spell disaster if a snail climbed into the pipe, or it got blocked somehow.

Plumb the overflow holes separately. The overflow box is on point with that return pump.

I don't agree. The overflow is rated to 1500gph (not that he will use all of that potential) and the Eheim 1262 has a max flow of 960gph at ZERO head. Add in head height, plumbing bends, etc..., and you are more likely to get 500gph or less. According to the head loss chart from Eheim, with 4 ft of head pressure it is at ~580gph, add in any bends, return nozzles, gate/ball valves, etc., and it is even lower.

I would still recommend a larger pump.

I thought that Eheim 1262 is actually a 1262gph. I agree with ipsouth1978, definitely get a more powerful pump

1262 is for Lph, they like to keep us guessing.

Yes, the DCP 10000 will work well. I am currently using the DCP - 8000 on my 40B and have it at 44% power.

I would not call it a "trash" light, but it is not going to work well once you have corals in the tank.

Need to find 2 heaters to fit in the Sump and another light, the only problem i see having with light is that i would like for it to sit on top of the glass lids. i dont want to hang it above the aquarium. im fine using T5 also

Much better, but I would still look at better lighting. I started with a T5/ halide system from Aquatraders, which ultimately was kinda junky but it grew corals well for the first few years I had it before I upgraded to high-end lighting. For 200 bucks it put out a lotta lumens.

Thanks for all the great info, so i got water in the tank and plumbing set up, here is a video of the sump is this normal, i was able to get the gurglign to go away buy slowing down the return pump
