MACNA Pics!
Here are some pics from MACNA this year... Enjoy!
Me and Matt (fishkid6692) hung out a lot there: Here is a rather nice piece, It is the "strawberry shortcake acro" from Unique Corals. ORA's display tank: Here is one of my favorite clams that I have ever seen (the cool zebra at the very bottom of the pic)... I thought about buying it, but it was gone within the first couple of hours. I got to force feed a fish! It was pretty cool.

I didn't look much at the equipment (because it all tends to be out of my budget range)... Sorry.

It was nice to meet you in person. Looks like you had a great time.
What fish did you force feed, and what type of food did you use? That was probably one demo I should not have missed. |

Don't worry, I have pictures of people that I'll be posting later. Usually, I try to take pictures when peope aren't in the way so you can see what they were seeing. But I know what you are saying.

Here are a few. What I'm interested in may not be as interesting to y'all, but you just never know.

That's a huge skimmer!! what size tank do you need for that??
I bet the water volume in that is more than my tank.

Yes, that was a beast. I think it was 10,000g such as a public aquarium would need. You know, Shamu probably pollutes the water a tad at Sea World. heh
Incidentally, Ken Feldman did a presentation about skimmer efficiency that will probably be buzz-worthy for the next couple of months. |

In the first picture. The mermaid on the right looks like she is wearing Mickey Mouse ears if you just glance at it! LOL
Can't wait to see more pictures. Sure wish they were closer to the left coast. Might make it easier for me to attend one someday.

Mike, the next one will be in Orlando. Might as well book it now so it won't hurt financially later. The entry fee (full conference package) is about $110 today, and the room rates are $99 per night. If you arrived Thursday evening like most of us, you can rest up for when it begins Friday. Flight plus three nights in the hotel plus food... it isn't that bad if you start taking care of it now. If you wait until the end, you may feel it all at once and be concerned that it isn't affordable. Let's just say it could cost you as much as $800 by keeping it reasonable. That's $67 per month.
How many corals do you buy each month? Buy yourself a little education and have fun at the same time. Your reef will definitely benefit from that knowledge. |

The video of the fish feeding can be seen here: Getting your fish to eat. Three people in the audience were actually able to feed a fish that way. They just used water because we didn't have a fine enough ground food.
