Sulfur Denitrator vs. Solid Carbon Pellets
My current tank is a 120 gallon barebottom mixed reef that always hovers in the 50ppm N03 range, most likely because of;
- minimal live rock (probably only 60lbs or so in a 120g) - DIY skimmer - moderate bioload - likely too much food I change 25g every week and still see N03 at 50ppm. I've added a DIY sulfur denitrator to help, but its still in the cycling stages and has not yet started lowering nitrate. The $1M question is this; Is solid carbon dosing a more productive method to lower N03? I've been following the threads here in thwe chem forum and I must say that the results seem conclusive that the pellets work. Any thoughts/opinions that may help me out
