About a year. They were a mating pair but I recently lost the male. They have a short lifespan of only a couple of years.

Sorry to hear that, Paul I got my bluestripes in July 07, I hope they live a long time. I think it helps I keep the temperature low, between 68 and 72.

Just out of curiosity...

By the looks of it more people own seahorses than I had thought.
I posted questions on this forum before to get a few questions answered. Still don't know if I want to jump into it.

If you buy two females will they never get that gas bubble? Really nothing to worry about then? How long on average would erectus live if I put two females in a 24 gallon?
