Giant Cup problems

I have/had this huge giant blue cup mushroom (elephant ear). Anyway his foot got torn 6 weeks ago no thanks to carelessness on my part. That tear seems to have healed but the mushroom keeps deteriorating.
Not sure if there's a chemical warfare issue or what the heck is going on...
Heres a before pic (with the ruler in the picture) and a couple current pictures.

Anyone know how to save it?

Thx.

Can you take it out of the tank and give it an iodine dip? Worse case scenario, hospital tank?

If not, then I might dilute some lugol's in tank water, turn off flow, and squirt gently some lugol's around it to clean it up a little. And maybe add a drop or two of lugol's to your tank on a daily basis for a bit.

It doesn't really look too bad imo, just stressed and healing.
