well its alot of flow, but if its not too intense for your fish or corals, i would say its fine. Is there any dead spots in your tank?

it really just depends on your corals... softies/lps like moderate low flow.
sps lots of flow |

Depends on what your keeping, I have two tunze 6080s and a return pump on a 40br. I have sps and lps.

i am using 2 k4's and a mj1200 on my 60g cube. my fish like to "surf" in the currents. no dead spots either. before i added the k4's, i was having hair algae issues, cyano, etc. Not so much anymore....

Since you'll have softies and LPS, I'd run one of the Evo's and the K1.

IMHO - That is too much flow regardless of what you are keeping.
Even SPS do not want to be blasted constantly. And kicking up sand is a bad thing, corals will not like that. |

Depends how you have them set up. With that much flow id def put them of a cheap wave stirp, i think itll be great

the more flow the better, as long as the water's not splashing out and the corals are not getting hurt let it flow

There really is no such thing as 'too much flow'. There ARE however, different TYPES of flow and MISPLACED flow.
Take an old aquaclear powerhead vs a tunze for example. The aquaclears put out hundreds of gallons an hour out of a pinhole and the tunze is a nice biiiiig wiiiiide stream. So GPH is really relative to the ph's you have. You could also have a strong ph pointing right at corals and irritating them, or you can have them pointed at the front or side glass making the flow miss the coral and give it indirect flow. |
