Contradiction.

I have had mine on the 29 biocube at my shop for a few weeks now. I had the A150W Sky Blue over it for nine months and swapped it for the A350. I tuned it at about 30% on both colors and it looks great. But people keep playing with it and leaving it on full power so i got to keep an eye on it before i bleach every thing.
Any chance of seeing a couple of pics? One with the Biocube under the A150W along with it currently under the A350W? I'm trying to decide what to get for my JBJ NC28. leaning toward the Kessil A350W though.

Before; A150W Sky Blue 10K (this has been on there for 10 months.)

After; A350 Tuna

This is the white no blue on a Idaho Grape Cap

Thanks so much for the comparison frick! Looks awesome.

I think I'm set on one a350 or a350w set similar to the sky blue in the a150. Now I just need to find $400 under the couch cushions. Oh well, I need to wait for my tank to get more established before I start adding corals anyways.

How do you like the coverage over the NC with the a350. Looks like there may not be a need to go with the a350w on such a small cube.

For a narrow reflector the A350 does the job well. I just need to make sure the intensity stays at 30% or i will have a coral BBQ. When i get the wide angel tunas in I will get some pics over my 40gallon.

Awesome. Thanks Frick.

I figure with the intensity of it I could keep it a good 8-10" over the surface to get good coverage while still having enough intensity. With me just getting back into the hobby a month ago after years off I didn't realize how new the a350 is. It's interesting to see them used in different applications.

Just ordered this light 10% off never hurt! I'm going to hang this on quite high about 18" above the tank over my 20"x20"x20" cube. S/b here next week sometime. Won't have any good pics until my build is nearing completion though.

I'd love to see a pic even if things aren't up and looking good just yet. I'd just like to see the spread and how "full" the light looks in the cube. I can't wait to get one over my nano cube. It's just that I've got a few pressing purchases to get out of the way first.

ok, for a 27 gallon cube shape, 18x20x20 one a350, one a350w or 2 a150s?

Will do! There is a couple pretty good videos on Youtube that might answer your questions...

I'd go with (1) A350 as it's cheaper than two a150's and you can adjust intensity and color.

That's a 24" tank in the video I posted from Youtube. I just ordered the A350 for my 20x20x20 cube. Should have plenty of spread. I'm going to mount mine around 18" above the tank though. Kessil recommends 1-2ft above the tank. I like the gooseneck but in order to center it in the middle of the tank it's only around 8" off the surface of the water.

The A350 might be over kill. I was growing SPS in this BioCube 29 for 9 months with just a Sky Blue. I have the A350 over it now, but it is dialed down to 30% power.

Yea it def is overkill. But for only 100$ more then the a150 if I can just keep it dialed down I think it may be the best bang for my buck

Were you getting good growth on the SPS with just the A150 sky blue? I was planning on going that route over my nano cube 28. I figure it's only 17x18x17 so it should be sufficient but some people are saying not so much for SPS.

True that. And if you upgrade tanks you can use the same light.

It was good growth and color. It would have been better if i had a little calcium reactor on there. That might be the next addition. Keeping the alk stable in this thing is a pain.

Thanks frick. I'd love to go with the A150 and save $135 if I could get away with it. In your pics it looks like it had pretty good coverage other than the very tops of the corners.

I think the biggest issue with the A350 is where it's mounted above the tank. If it's only 6" above the water you're asking for trouble. LED's are notorious for burning corals without proper acclimation. I'm going to be hanging mine well above my 20" cube roughly 18" or so. That way I should get excellent coverage and can ramp up the intensity as the corals acclimate.

Frick, how are you mounting the a350? I didn't think the gooseneck was released yet.

I would have to agree with you on that. Especially the A350 with such an intense beam.

Well the goosenecks for the A350s were suppose available by end of June, but I just heard they might be available sooner then that. Maybe the first week. For now i just kept the A150W gooseneck that i had the Sky Blue attached to and did some redneck engineering with zip ties.

I have two A150's over a 24x24x20h. Will that be enough to sustain SPS growth given other parameters are optimal?
