high alk
I was checking my BRS dosing pumps and I think I hit the on button on the timer and when I got home the ALK was low and I thought it was leaking and then notice the dosing pump running. It was running about 14 hours. Friday and Saturday I did a 5 gallon water change. Today I tested ALK and its at 12 and PH is 8.4 I have mosty soft corals, a few sps frags and a claim. Everything looks ok. My question is should a do another water change or let it drop on its own now.. I keep my ALK normally around 9.

I would let it drop on its own. Water changes could lower the alkalinity, but large water changes can cause more harm than good, and it'd take a fair number of smaller changes.
