Red Bugs

Hoping that someone could answer a few questions for me.

I just recently started adding SPS corals to my tank and noticed today that I have Red Bugs .
The thing is that I have had them in there now for almost 2 months and I just started to notice them.
All the SPS frags in the tank can easily be removed and put in a QT tank, but my LPS, mushrooms, etc, would be a lot harder to remove.

My questions are:
  1. Do the red bugs eat LPS, mushrooms, etc?
  2. If I take the frags out and treat them with Interceptor in a QT tank (seperate system from my main tank), will they die off in the main display with no SPS in there?
  3. If they do die off without the SPS (like ick eventually dies off without fish), does anyone know how long there life span is?
Thank you for all the help.
-Jordan

    They only infest acropora.

As long as absolutely no acropora remain, not even a spec.

The life cycle of a red bug is 5 days. I would recommend leaving your tank acro fallow for 14 days at the minimum, to ensure that no new generations can take hold. (they are not egg layers, FWIW)
