Do all the AI Sol's have royal blue, blue and white? I've just been looking on a few sites and they only say they have 16 x xpe and 8 x xpg crees.

All info from AI web site.

The Sol Blue puck has 1 blue, 1 royal blue, and 1 cool white LED.
The Sol White puck has 2 cool white, and 1 royal blue LED.
The AI Sol exclusively uses white Cree XP-G and blue/royal blue XP-E series LED

A lot of retailers have the Sol White specs listed under the Sol Blue.

I have another question as well. You can't buy these in my country and where I live we use 220-240V, if I change out the power supply for a 220-240V one will it still be ok to use here?

Hi all
Running 3 AI sol blues on a 120cm x 45cm x 60 cm tank

I'm using the railing which came with the lights, therefore their sitting right on top roughly 3 inches from the water line. I started off really low at 25 % but after reading this thread, I cranked them up to 45%. I've been ramping them up by5% each week and am running them at 100% and my corals are loving it.

1045. 95 95 95 1hr
1400. 100 100 100 30 mins
2200 85 85 85. 30 mins
2300. 7 7 7. 30 mins
0200. 0. 0. 0.

The AI site says
Universal Input Range: 100 to 240VAC / 50 to 60Hz

I would email their tech support support@aquaillumination.com and ask if they have country specific adapters or what you can use.

Yeah thats what I thought. I also ask a few suppliers as well and none have replied yet. On that subject who would you recommend to buy one from? They will have to be able to ship international as well.

No, this is incorrect. There are 2 different kinds of AI sol, the Sol White and the Sol Blue. The Sol White has the light blue and 2 whites. The sol blue has rb/white/blue.

I am just starting out with my AI SOL Blues. I am running a 90G - 48x18x24
Lights are on the mount legs and are only 3" AWL. Current settings are:

10:00am 20WH/20BL/20RY 30min Ramp
12:00pm 40WH/40BL/40RY 30min
2:00pm 60WH/60BL/60RY 30min
6:00pm 50WH/50BL/50RY 30min
8:00pm 20WH/40BL/40RY 30min
9:00pm 0WH/30BL/30RY 30min
10:30pm 0WH/4BL/0RY 30min

I plan on going up by 5% per week until I get to 80%
Right now I just have a few LPS, a clam and zoos.
This tank is an upsize from a 29G nano

Any thoughts on settings?

Seems that this thread has been very useful. I am glad.

It certainly helped me get my AI's dialed in properly.

I have notable SPS growth that can be seen every couple of days. It is awesome to finally have things going the right direction.

I'd also like to note that we added a third unit to our tank. We started with two SOL Blues on a 48x24x24 120 gallon running lengthwise with all 70 degree optics 8" AWL. I have since added a third unit, now running front to back. The center fixture is 40 degree in center 70 degree on the outer and both outside units have all 70 degree optics.

Our tank was an upgrade from a previous setup but it did run through a mini cycle. Diatom blooms / hair algae / cyano / bubble algae - not in that order. Finally the crap is dying off or going dormant and my corals are growing well.

Here is my lighting:

11:45AM - 85/90/90 - 90min
7:45PM - 35/40/40 - 15 min
9:00PM - 5/15/15 - 30min
10:45PM - 0/0/3 - 15 min

I'll post some updated photos of our new growth, additions and a FTS or two later.

Hagisan I am doing very well with just one over my 92G corner. I did replace the 45 degree lenses with 70s though.

I just added my first SPS corals to my mixed reef. I currently run two AI SOL Blue's 12" AWL on a 65 gallon tank, but I do use the glass covers that came with the tank (not sure how much this effects lighting). What do you guys think about my initial settings? Thanks

8:00 am (5, 20, 10) 30 min ramp
9:00 am (45, 48, 48) 180 min ramp
5:00 pm (0, 0, 5) 180 min ramp
3:30 am (0, 0, 0) 2 min ramp
