I think it's about 1700liters of air per hour.

Wow, 1700 lph? Really? That's VERY impressive if it's the case here.
Can anyone confirm this? I heard the BK Mini 200 Gen 2 pulled out 1000 lp/h of air but wasn't sure.

200 prob does - it pulls 38 watts and the 180, the one I have pulls 28 watts and pulls 800 lph per Aquarium Spec. site - they forgot to give the 200 air pull

Bubble King Mini 180 Generation 2

Base plate : 8.25" x 8.25"
For tanks from 100 - 200 gallons
800 L/H air - 396 GPH Water
Total height : 21.65"
Power: 28 Watt/h

Thanks everyone for the answers. So they advertise it as being a 1700 lp/h skimmer, yet it pulls 1100 lp/h???
That's bad if this is the case. There's a big difference here

I would LOVE to hear from Klaus or anyone at Royal/Proline about these numbers, as this is a skimmer I'm considering to get.

Thanks!

That sounds about right, I have a 2500 that pulls about 1800lp/h of air, somehow I don't think with the american voltage or something that they don't always pull exactly as listed? Maybe it's just me, I'd love to hear from the sellers or manufactures as well.

I'm new to BKs........ so did I make a stupid decision by buying a BK deluxe 200 Internal, when I should've just bought a mini 200?? seems like from the specs, the mini 200 draws even more air/water than my d200??

So would the mini 200 outperform the deluxe 200 internal?

ALL's I can say is that I have a BK SM 200 which is rated at approx. 1500l/ph and my Dwyer meter max is 1500 and the skimmer went far beyond that. I was impressed by its performance.

I dont think you made a bad decision, its a different skimmer. The Deluxe is more adjustable, and has a larger reaction chamber than the minis, also Deluxe model has big block motor with anti lime by pass which is a benefit as well. Air input is an important factor but its not everything.
Hope this helps.

thanks!!! for a while there I thought that I made a big mistake. I was thinking/seeing that from what everyone is saying the sm200 or the mini200 was outperforming the d200, but from what I've seen they kinda work for different type of set ups. thanks again ksed.

Would somebody mind explaining exactly how the anti lime bypass works?

Never had given it much thought before. Last week I did a complete cleaning of my BK 250 SM and ran the pump in vinegar for a few hours. Looks like anti lime bypass just brings water into the motor housing? what exactly does it do in there thats beneficial?

Brings water back to motor housing to keep it cool which helps in minimizing calcium formation.

did you get an answer yet - I would like to know as well - here in the US what is the documented air pull of a 180 and 200 mini?

General question to all of you:

I currently have a Deltec APF600 on my system witch is about 140g. I'm planning to remove my DSB but want to make sure that I have the best skimmer that I can fit in my sump.

My sump is a standard 55 g tank, what BK skimmer would you recommend?

well, I have a d200 and it barely fits in a 75g (width wise, 20"). I'm no expert, but I'm guessing if you want in sump, you'll have to get the bk minis. with a 120g tank, you'll probably be fine with the smallest bk mini.
