Thank you guys and gals, I do love working on the tank.

I ordered a Trumpet Coral and a fan worm last night, these should add some more color to the tank, I also would like to get a red lobed brain I think some red would be a good addition to the tank.

I'm also considering a 6 bulb light (TEK Elite) but I worry that it's gonna be too much light. As it is I am only running the 2 bulbs (blue+ purple+) 12 hours and the other 2 (blue+ KZ new Gen 14K) 2 1/2 hours. I seem to have the best look out of the corals with this amount of light. I guess I could run actinic in the other two slots and that would not really add any PAR although I know the TEK light alone is going to add PAR due to the better quality T5. Hmm decisions....

Why are you thinking of swapping? want more light for something like a clam?

Actually my thought on the light was to enable me to move to a more mixed reef (SPS & LPS) after I upgrade the tank later next year to a custom built 80gallon. I thought I would make the purchase of the new light now and just run some actinic in the other bulb slots to give me some more blue (and bring out more color) but not raise the PAR to the point that I melt LPS in 16inches of water.

And yes a clam in the future would be awesome...

Wait a few days and see how far that gbt climbs your rock. If it goes all the way to the top, right under the light. Then perhaps that could be the argument you need to purchase more light. At least that is what you can tell the wife...

Haha, I was thinking in a couple months lol I never hurry. I keep thinking the GBTA will move to more light but so far it stays put.

Well crap, my coral order looks like it was shipped to Indiana instead of California. I hope customer service gets back to me soon.

lol ya think?? Funny thing is the order originated in California. It could just be a FedEx mistake but it's after 3:00pm and no package and that is unusual for FedEx overnight.

Well my new corals never arrived, the tracking still says it's in transit even though the delivery date is today. With any luck I can get this resolved in the morning, I'm sure if it arrives tomorrow it will be dead it's been pretty cold here overnight.

I also went ahead and ordered the TEK Elite 6x39watt T5 light, it will increase my par some but since I plan to use actinics in the other 2 slots it should be fine. It also has adjustable legs so I can regulate the PAR that way. The legs are back ordered but it's all good I am in no hurry to make the change over anyways.

The GBTA is on the move, it hid all day today in the same cave the shrimp hangs out in but tonight it's moving around the back, not really sure where it's going in the dark but we shall see in the morning.

Quick update on my coral shipment, this morning the tracking says it's in Oakland, Ca. It's getting closer I guess, I'm sure the coral water is pretty cold at this point. No word from customer support yet, I may have to call them again!!

If the shipment is late, I'd definitely call them to keep them in the loop. If you can print a screen showing the shipment status, it wouldn't hurt to be able to read it to them. You can probably pin them down for a replacement of any losses.

Good luck!

Thanks I will do that! I figured I would go through the motions of acclimating and see if it lives (when it arrives anyways) you never know!

My GBTA moved around last night and ended up right back in the same spot, too funny! I suppose when it decides it wants light it will move into the direct light.

I've got the Trumpet Coral in acclimation right now, it would have been 13 heads but one arm broke off during shipping so it's now only 10 heads and one little 3 head stalk. I have no idea where I will put the other stalk...

Ok well the trumpet coral is in the tank, I should say coral's cause it's 2 now... I have the worm acclimating and it has already opened up.. It's a Hawaiian Fan worm (brown and white), pretty cool little guy his tube is about 4 inches long..

Lights are out so I'm hoping the trumpet opens up in the next 2 hrs or so.

Here are a few pics from this morning, the Trumpet Coral looks a little puffy this morning it's really hard to tell if there is any difference at all from last night.
