My 2 cents... The sand was one of the best parts of the package thus far. It was very "live" I poured it in and the critters came out. worms, hermits, snails, clams... Now fan worms are starting to emerge all over. Awesome!

Someone just posted their order shots and had a good one of the sand. Pretty much what you described.
