Can vodka dosing reduce very high Nitrate and Phosphate?

If you have some very old rock and sand that is leaching nitrate and phosphate. Would vodka dosing be recommended?

If you've got rock saturated with nitrate and/or phosphate, you should probably cook it -- several threads here to discuss doing so. What are you hoping to achieve via vodka dosing?
