Modifying touch lights for timers
I have an issue with my QT and FWT I am hoping the RC community may be able to assist me with. This is touch sensitive lights that I want to modify so that I can control them via a standard AC timer.
I use an Aqua One Reflex 35 for my QT and an Aqua One Lifestyle 52 for my FWT. Both ship with a standard touch operated LED light which is fine for my lighting needs, however particularly for the FWT I want to be able to turn this light on and off via an AC timer. I am sorry but I am not sure what these are marketed as in the USA. Here are the links to the products we buy in Australia. http://www.aquaone.com.au/2018-02-20...s-aquarium-35l http://www.aquaone.com.au/2018-02-20.../3598-52042gbk Does anyone have any suggestions how I could modify the lights to allow me to turn them on and off via an AC timer? Thanks in advance, Brad Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

By touch do you just mean you touch the light anywhere and it turns on? capacitive touch?
Or are there 2 probes your finger must touch? or what.. And how does it turn off? What happens if you just turn it on then try to use a timer on it? Does it not turn back on after going out?

Modifying touch lights for timers
Capacative touch I think. There is a spot on top to touch to turn each light on. Here is the FWT spot. One finger is enough.
When the AC timer turns on the light stays off. I need to touch it to turn it on. My current workaround is to set the timer to turn on very early, off at 12, on at 12:15, off at 23:00. That way I turn it on before I go to work, and back on when I get home. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Last edited by Tastee; 08/09/2018 at 05:52 AM. |
