^ that sucks. The seller should take care of it for you. Mine is pretty much broken in now, I just need to get it dialed in. IMO this is the smallest tank this skimmer should be used on, it is a bit overkill for my bio load which is fairly light. Here are some skim pics from this morning, nothing crazy yet but it is still new and not dialed in.

from over night

Well its been a few days so here is an update. I continue to be very happy with this skimmer. It is so quiet and is not effected by me putting my hands in the tank or by feeding, it just keeps skimming. I have had it set on about 3.5 and it skims out a medium green nasty smelling skim. I have not cleaned the skimmer since the last post so it give you an idea on what it skims out. The SC150 is blowing away the NW110 by far, collect in 2 days what the NW110 did in a week. My bioload is on the light side for this skimmer, but I got this skimmer with plans of a 75g tank upgrade.

I just scored one of these off ebay! Looks like it'll probably have to go into my refugium since i cant seem to grow chaeto anymore.Any idea on the recommended water height? This is going to be competing with my coralife65/deltecmc600 hybrid.

LOL I had to put mine in my old fuge section too, it was to big to go in my skimmer section. I have mine in 9 inches of water that seems to be perfect, 8-10 inches should be fine. Pics of the SS65/Deltec hybrid would be cool, sound interesting. I had a SS65 on this tank years ago, what a crappy skimmer.

that was one day after installing it, it is really pulling out some thick nasty stinky stuff and about 2/3 a two liter bottle every week.
The best part i like is how it never seems to suddenly for no reason over skim like it did with the old pump.

I just put in an offer on one of these. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping to get one of these to replace my Berlin Classic. I'm really hoping it'll fit into my sump area what is 8"x12". I'm hoping maybe angling it in will help.

EDIT: It's been less than 10 minutes and my offer was accepted. This ebay seller seems very good.

Press is out on "good eBay seller". Quick to make the sale, yet have a problem and the quickness is gone. Two days to get a return email on my damaged skimmer - then I was provided am email to send the pics too. That was Tuesday - still no word. Sent email this morning asking if he recieved pics, still nothing. Not throwing darts at the guy but doesn't come close to others I've worked with.

My bubble magus came with a similar piece. It was to use as a riser in the sump.

Not a bad experience yet; just not as responsive as one would expect. If I have to file a dispute via ebay; then it will join the ranks of bad.

I'm with you, Kenny. Mine was broken when it arrived and I sent a pic too, but have not heard back from him. Let me know what happens with yours, and I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Is this the same damage you had? The skimmers are being shipped in narrow boxes with the inlet of the pump against the outside of the box. Slightest compression on that side of the box and you can see what happens. Other than that, the rest of the packaging is good. Three emails now; no answer and I leave on vacation tomorrow.

Edit: Just sent another email through ebay instead of the email address provided. If you submit an offer you get a response within minutes - lets see how long a 'please, help me' email takes.

^ Oh man that sucks. I am sorry you had a bad experience. The seller was quick to answer my questions only took a day or 2. I hope you get it replaced, you will be happen with it once you can get a undamaged one up and running. You can post a bad review on Ebay that will get the sellers attention, if needed.

Again, I haven't chalked this up to a bad experience yet, although on a customer service scale of 1-10 we're sitting at a 6 right now. I also refrain from going on a rant as that doesn't help either party and those that may be considering buying one of these skimmers. No need for a bad ebay review yet.

Just got my SC65 yesterday. I'm happy with the quality. Too bad I have to finish building my stand and get a new sump before I can try it out.

I like the looks of that skimmer also. Small footprint and more appropriate size for the tank I'm going to build. Can you please post when you recieve and let us know how well packaged it is? The way it is built, I would think packaging wouldnt' be an issue.

I am on day two and this things starting to produce, It is doing well enough already that i am noticing a reduction in the amount of skimmate my other skimmer is producing.
