You can buy an LED, but if you want to use it, that'll be extra.

LOL I can use them stand alone but to synch 2 lights together to the controller I have to buy the cord.

i'm also assuming I should just leave both knobs o the units at max since they are irrelevant with the controller, or should they be set to zero, why don't the instructions cover this?

Just an FYI, if you want to get them up today, you can go to walmart and get an auxilary cable. That's all it uses to connect to each kessil and the spectral controller.

well thats great to know, it looked standard in the picture but I figured it might be proprietary like most accessories for fish tank related stuff. guess I should have asked about that earlier.

the wire came, all up and running, these are way better. pretty much exactly like halides in appearance, except with tune-ability. love it.

You might want to check out the discontinued aqua life LED expert series, that are deeply discounted now, and does have some bells and whistle's, excellent reviews. I'm not speaking from experience, but I just ordered one

Dare I ask, does anyone have any experience with that fixture ?

I tuned my camera to capture as close to real light appearance as possible with my camera skills.

I came here to comment that two of the 160's would probably be the perfect fit! glad to see you found your way! I have a 360we that I intended to use over a 40 breeder. The light spillage was a bit extreme and just didnt see it as a good fit... So I bought a 90gal and another kessil to solve that problem!
