I don't remember...

But is it safe to use Plexi-glass in my sump/refugium? The owner of my LFS said that it wouldn't be a problem. Also, what type of epoxy/silicone substance should I use to join the material to glass?

Yes, it is safe. You just want to make sure to use a material that doesnt "become active" or start dissolving/leeching when it is in contact with water.

Plexiglass, (a brand of acrylic) is fine for baffles in your sump. I would use silicone to glue the baffles into place, as long as the silicone is reef safe you are fine. One thing though the acrylic will grow as it absorbs water, so make sure you cut the baffles short or when they expand they can cause a glass tank to break. Actually only use silicone if you are putting it in a glass tank also.

if you dont want to silicone them in place, you can use epdm weather stripping - cut the just a little loose, and the weather stripping will wedge them into place. this allows for real easy mods in the future

I normally cut 1/4 inch short, leaving 1/8 inch on each side for the acrylic to grow.
