Tank Height Question

I was just wondering what species of Seahorses could go in an 18 inch tall tank, if any. If there are any that could I would also be glad if you had any general info, such as if they are cold water or warmer, so I can plan ahead for the Seahorses.

Thanks for any help.

as long as the tank is big enough gallon wis you can put just about any horse in a 18" tall tank. the height is mainly for breeding purposes as far as i know, so you can keep them in an 18" tall tank, just don't expect much breeding.

Ok thank you for the fast response. The tank is 30 gallons. Would that be ok?

In a 30g tank you could keep a pair, if you had excellent filtration and husbandry you could go with two pairs.

I have kept seahorses in shorter tanks and still had them breed. They always seem to find a way for some reason. I do notice that they enjoy the vertical height.

I would look into species like eretus, reidi, and barbouri.

Ok thank you. So it sounds like most would work. That is good to know. I'll still do some more research on the care of seahorses but just knowing that the tank would work is good.

If anybody else has an opinion let me know.
