I went through all 218 pages and did not see this hitchhiker. I can see this hitchhiker becoming a pest, so can someone help me ID.

Looks different from hydroids.

Eggs of ?

Uncertain whether these are snail eggs or something else. Different from what I'm used to for snail eggs. They don't move and eventually hollow out in the center (second image).

Thanks!

Has anyone seen these before? I have a few in my new tank. I was told they were some sort of coral but I want to double check. Thanks!

Could be Nerite snail eggs, Not 100% on type but yeah they do look like some type of snail eggs.

Limpet?

Hi, I think I have a limpet living on my snail. Are limpets black?

So my tank has been cycling with live rock for about 4 days now and a few hitchhikers have started to show their face. Mainly just 2 small crabs that I spotted 2 days ago. This morning I woke up and found this little dude cruising around. I went through this thread and I'm pretty sure it's an Asterina Starfish.

Thoughts?

What is it?

Can anyone tell me what this pink stuff is that is starting to appear on my live rock? Is it good or bad to have?

It might just be red Coralline algae, which is good. If these red areas protrude from the rocks though, then Foraminiferans is another possibility. (also good)

More pink stuff.

Sorry for the two separate posts, but I couldn't get the two images to appear in the one post. This is more of the stuff starting to appear on my live rock. The rock was out of water for six months, and then added to this new tank, with a couple of bits of live rock from the aquarium shop. The tank has been cycling for a week, now.

Need help with identifying some crabs i found on my live rock

I heard a lock clicking/tapping/popping noise coming from my LR and upon investigation found some crabs. Could these be causing the noise? Or something else? I bought my LR from tampabaysaltwater.com and am BRAND new to saltwater. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hairy crabs are usually bad and will eat corals.

The other is a porcelain crab. They are filter feeders and a good addition to any reef system. The clicking you hear is most likely a pistol shrimp (not bad, but noisy), and you may also have mantis shrimp (bad if u like having snails, hermits, etc)

I recently acquired about 140 lb.
of live rock from another reefer that had it in his tank for over 10 years. I've been "cooking" it for a little over 2 weeks now and while I was doing a water change yesterday I noticed some black slime and handful of large white bubbles. Any ideas on what they are?

Thanks!
