can two 1-3/4" holes be drilled one inch apart in low iron glass?*

i wouldnt keep those this close. maybe 3-4"

well..yes they can
The bulkhead flanges will almost be touching though (assuming a 1" bulkhead with roughly a 2-5/8 flange)and its best to not have them that close..

I would feel better with about 1-3/4" between them.

It's a bit risky. General guidance is one hole diameter of glass between the edges of the two holes. Grinding them that close raises the risk of a crack. I certainly would not try it for two holes that were low down in the tank, and subject to greater pressures.

I would really look harder for an other way to do these overflows.
The location of the holes on the tank will matter. Also how thick the glass is could help or hurt. |
